Geographic Influence

The origins of the Medellin weed strain can be traced back to the Andean region of Colombia, specifically the city of Medellín. This region is known for its rich soil, mild climate, and ideal growing conditions for cannabis.

The history of cannabis cultivation in Colombia dates back to the 1970s and 1980s, when the country experienced a significant increase in marijuana production due to government-backed programs aimed at creating new crops for export. During this time, American farmers and Colombian cultivators experimented with various strains, leading to the development of unique hybrids like Medellin.

Medellín’s geographic influence can be attributed to its strategic location in the Aburrá Valley. The city’s proximity to the equator and its mild temperature range between 18°C and 22°C (64°F and 72°F) create a perfect environment for cannabis growth. Additionally, Medellin’s soil is rich in nutrients, making it an ideal place for cultivating high-quality marijuana.

The region’s unique combination of Andean and Caribbean influences has also contributed to the distinctive characteristics of the Medellin weed strain. The strain’s balanced ratio of sativa (70%) and indica (30%) makes it suitable for both medicinal and recreational purposes.

Here are some key characteristics of the Medellin weed strain:

  • CBD levels: 1-2%
