Cannabinoid and Terpene Profile

Main Compounds

The cannabinoid and terpene profile of a cannabis strain, such as Sunshine OG, can significantly impact its effects on users.

Cannabinoids are the primary active compounds found in the cannabis plant, with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) being the most well-known and potent psychoactive compound. CBD (cannabidiol), on the other hand, is non-psychoactive and has been shown to have various therapeutic benefits.

Other cannabinoids present in cannabis include CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol), and CBC (cannabichromene). Each of these compounds can interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system to produce distinct effects.

Terpens, on the other hand, are aromatic molecules produced by the cannabis plant. These molecules are responsible for the unique scent and flavor profiles of different strains, as well as their therapeutic potential.

The main compounds in Sunshine OG can vary depending on the grower and growing conditions. However, some common cannabinoids found in this strain include:

  • THC: 18-22%
  • CBD: 1-3%

Terpene profiles for Sunshine OG may include:

  • Limonene: Known for its citrusy scent and potential therapeutic benefits, such as stress relief and anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Myrcene: A terpene with earthy and musky aromas, which is believed to have analgesic and sedative properties.
  • Bisabolol: A calming and soothing terpene with a herbal aroma, associated with reduced anxiety and inflammation.
  • Pinene: A fresh and pine-like terpene that may aid in reducing inflammation and improving respiratory function.

The combination of these cannabinoids and terpenes can contribute to the unique effects and therapeutic potential of Sunshine OG. The exact proportions and presence of these compounds may vary depending on the grower, so users should be aware of their individual tolerance and sensitivity when consuming this strain.
